The Process

How the system works

Our technology uses a patented technology called steam thermolysis to convert nearly any waste material into clean, renewable energy. Unlike other waste-to-energy processes, this unique method relies on heat transfer instead of incineration—efficiently producing the highest quality syngas with no flame and no pollution.

Even the very best and most recent combustion-based Energy from Waste technologies openly acknowledge that they produce 20-25% of their original input waste, in bottom ash and fly ash.

The gases formed during thermolysis (thermal decomposition) of organic waste is further refined into high-quality syngas at high temperature in the Reformer by the addition of steam, called “steam thermolysis”. Our syngas is rich in hydrogen, a valuable gas product that can be used for energy production or in pure hydrogen extraction. The carbon dioxide which remains part of the syngas is CO2 neutral. Another minor component of the syngas is carbon monoxide as well as a small amount of residual methane. As a combustible gas, carbon monoxide (CO) serves as a source of energy and is therefore an important component of the syngas produced by the Reformer.
